The stay is arranged in Shramajeevi Ashram, as the name suggests it is an ashram which needs us to follow some basic ground rules
- Maintain peace and quiet at all times, no loud music / loud talking / unruly behaviour
- Follow the timings specified by the tour organizers and ensure you are on time for meals / excursions / activities
- It is a plastic-free zone, please carry back any disposables or dispose them at designated locations
- Sanitary waste needs to be disposed of in specific locations at incinerators
- Do not wander off from the habitable zones / rooms / canteen, especially early morning or nights
- Use a torch to walk around in campus when dark
- Speak in Kannada to any locals, it encourages conversations and friendliness
- Try to mingle with the locals, Charaka staff or artisans, ask questions, do not assume
- Stay safe at all times, especially when on the road, adventure activities etc.
- Do not waste food, if you can't eat it do not accept it in your plates
- Whenever traveling by public transport / walking, ensure to stay in groups and within eyesight of adults
- Ask before taking pictures of locals / ancient monuments / temples / artisans working
- Participate with utmost focus and interest in all the activities
- All your work needs to be done by yourself, washing, cleaning, taking care of your belongings etc.
